So the Best Western we stopped at last night apparently has a PC just off the lobby. I figured I would manage to come across one sooner or later.
The drive down wasn't too bad. We managed to get out of Atlanta before the ugly afternoon traffic got really bad and while it was heavy south of town it was nothing like it would have been two or three hours later.
The girls were very well behaved. When I purchased the PT I made sure to get a DVD player installed for stuff such as this and it also has composite inputs as well, so I was able to hook up the gamecube for them to play. You can only watch so many movies before that gets old.
We arrived in Lake City, Florida shortly after nine pm last night. Room rates are OK, but this isn't exactly the Hilton either.
One we get to Disney this morning I don't know what kind of access I will have to the internet but at the very least I will use utterz and get a couple of posts up.
At the last minute (like after I had posted this) I decided to use it as my Odd Shots on Monday post. You can't get much more odd than the photo below...
I've done all kinds of funny stuff as a parent to entertain my children, not the least of which is to dress up. Normally it's just for Halloween and although I might claim it's for my kids I have just as much fun doing it.
When I posted about the Renaissance Festival I mentioned that we had picked up costumes. I already had the shirt but got a vest as well and have picked up the boot tops recently at some pirate costume shop online. The stuff isn't like high quality leather or anything but the price is right. Basically what you would pay at Wal-Mart for cheapo toys.
I am going to have to use some string or something to hold the damn boot tops up, either that or trade in the shorts for a pair of pants that I can tuck in. That would surely hold them up.
Go ahead and laugh. I am thinking about putting this on at the top of my sidebar for awhile! By the way, if you are interested in participating in Odd Shots, go check out Katney's Kaboodle!
I have three days left of work until my vacation. I live for my vacation the last few years it seems, whether we are actually going somewhere or just hanging out at the house for a week.
Friday was the girl's last day of school, all except the wife who has teacher work days until Wednesday. I managed to make it to my youngest girl's Pre-K graduation ceremony on Wednesday but I ended up getting stuck at work at the end of year ceremony for my ten-year-old. She was pretty upset. I told her several times Thursday and then on Friday morning that I most likely wouldn't make it but that darn sure didn't make her feel any better.
Overall today was a pretty uneventful day but I have had a pretty shitty attitude at work. I don't let it show but my thoughts aren't about what I am going to do next at work, they are only on that drive to Florida in five days. I managed to get out of work (the first time) around one this afternoon and go get my oil changed in preparation for the trip. Damn, there was the finest babe getting her car washed at the same time...but I digress...
Work pays for my oil changes as well as all of my normal maintenance costs and gasoline which works out pretty well. They don't pay when I'm on vacation everything up to and after that point is cool.
.....
Took a bit of a break to hang with the girls. I wrote the stuff above a couple of hours ago but by train of thought seems to have derailed...if it was ever on track to begin with.
So happy Memorial Day weekend everyone, and just remember the reason WHY we celebrate memorial day. It's to honor all of those brave heroes that have died to keep us free. Although in theory they serve(d) to protect the Constitution of the United States of America and preserve our life, liberty and property in all actuality they did it for US. Their wives and children, mothers and fathers. Our heroes serve to better themselves and to protect us from our enemies both in peace time and at war. Remember that when you fire up the barbecue on Monday and take a minute or two to reflect on our fallen sons and daughters and respect those who are currently serving.
I will, as usual, be working on Monday but will be thinking about everyone nevertheless.
....
So as I mentioned earlier my vacation starts Tuesday night. Actually Wednesday morning because it's entirely feasible that I might end up working Tuesday third shift. That would suck as I have to take the dog to the kennel on Wednesday morning and then go see my doctor about my cholesterol levels from my last blood test. Apparently they have improved but not as much as she wants. Crap. I was hoping they would have gotten better. I am hardly smoking, working out (which helps your cholesterol believe it or not) and trying to eat better than I was. I'm damn sure drinking about 10% of the amount of coffee that I was just back in December. I have always put away three or four pots a day and not I am down to less than three cups. Even if I make it in the evening like I have today, I hardly ever finish it anymore. It's just not the same not being able to have a smoke and a cup of joe at the same time for some fucking reason.
...
Yet another break for awhile. I don't remember what the original time was on this post but it's a few minutes after nine and I had to get on the phone with my stores. My boss and his boss are required to work one third shift every four weeks and that would be tonight so they have been in one of my stores for the last hour or so.
Speaking of work, I gave out my URL to someone today. That's not something I do very often, simply because the content of the site isn't particularly acceptable some days...I think I've only given the address out to one person the last couple of years but I slipped up today. I did ask her not to give it out so we'll see. I also gave out my myspace url which is what most people really want anyway. They aren't actually interested in reading or having a conversation, just blithe comments with stupid fucking flashy pictures in them. Whatever.
I mentioned a few days ago this plugin for Movabletype I have been using called Zemanta. It's the one that inserts that 'zemified' pic in some of the posts. Anyway, as I type it checks what I have written every few hours and suggests pertinent links and photos that might be related. Here are a couple it has suggested thus far into this long wind-bagged entry this evening.
1. The Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund over at Hug Hewitt's site. It has fuck all to do with my post but damn I'm glad to have found it. Here's the link to the fund itself. Why don't you take a minute or two on this Memorial Day weekend and go help out a Marine.
2. Celebrity Swimsuits over at Huffington Post. Huffington Post? WTF? That and the fact that they diss Jessica Alba. Oh hell no. She could drap a frigging toga over her shoulder in it at the beach and would still look hot.
I suppose that's about it for the day. Want to know what I'm listening to today?
<
Even back in 1975 Judas Priest was kicking ass.
One more thing before I go. I am going to be out of town for seven or eight days and I am looking for a couple of reprobates who might want to guest post over her. Nothing major but it would be cool to have some other view points. Shoot me an email if you are want the keys to the place.
I probably have a couple of tramp stamp pictures left from the Ren Fest but I've been playing around with this plugin from Magnify.Net that allows you to search for videos and photos right from the MT interface and it embeds them right into the entry. That's a great time saver for those weeks when I just don't have a darn thing here :)
I used to love going to see the Atlanta Braves. The wife and I both enjoy going but it's pretty rare to get to a game. I managed to go to one last season with the guys (and gals) from work but that's it in the last couple of years. My oldest girl also enjoys going and she is finally at the age where she might be able to sit through an entire game.
Even though I live out in West Georgia I grew up in and around the Roswell area and one of my best friends was originally from Boston. He was a huge Boston fan. We never did get to go but either of us would have killed to get Boston Red Sox Tickets when they came to Atlanta to play the Braves. The only question would be which side to sit on...
One pretty place online that looks pretty good to get tickets is Mongo tickets. In addition to the Sox you can get tickets for other sporting events such as Dallas Cowboys Tickets. Not interested in sporting events? How about Broadway or off Broadway shows. You can get Wicked Tickets at a decent price too.
'm in somewhat of a hurry this morning. The last few days I have been sleeping as late as possible, no matter what time it is that I went to bed. I guess it's a combination of almost being time for my vacation, drinking a little bit Saturday evening and working out in the hot sun a couple of days this week. I know the day after I painted my parking lots all I wanted to do was sleep. That was a week ago and I am just now peeling. I've got that nasty leper look going on with my forehead and my shoulders. Yummy. Come on in and I'll fix you some breakfast...
Yesterday was a working/non-working day. We had our annual 'care & share'. What a misnomer. They are actually pretty cool. Last year's was at the lake where my AVP lives. We cooked out and rode watercraft all day. This year was actually pretty fun. We had a scavenger hunt. You either had to bring stuff back or take pictures of the team doing stuff. There were three teams.
Among some of the items we had to bring back were a hurdle, real police badge, fire hose nozzle and the key to the city. We actually managed all of those items believe it or not. I'll try to post more on that this afternoon when I have a bit more time.
Nothing says summer like a hot girl in a bikini unless it's several of them at the same time. One of the nice things about Carrollton is West Georgia College, or as it's known now, State University of West Georgia. It was just a college when I went. Running from the back of the campus about three quarters of a mile to Maple Street is South Street. The closest piece of property to the college on South Street is an apartment complex that is pretty much strictly college students. The wife and I looked at them when we first moved out here in the late eighties and decided on a duplex on the other side of town instead, mainly because of the rent.
Anyhow, just as soon as it starts to get warm the girls break out the swimwear and start working on their tans. As you drive down South Street they lie out most of the day right off the road. VERY nice scenery. They would also lay out on campus in Love Valley, which is sort of a hollow that was half wooded and half grassy area right near the student center. I don't know what it is about womens bathing suits that are so attractive but nicely done swimwear or lingerie is often sexier than no clothes at all.
While I am partial to a nice string bikini, I don't complain when I get to look at them, wether it's a one piece christina swimwear outfit or just a t-shirt and cutoff shorts.
I actually get two days off in a row this week. Heck, that's four days in four weeks. I'm not gonna know what to do with myself...
Actually I will probably be doing some cleaning of the house and yard tomorrow after hopefully sleeping in. Tmorrow, today, what the fuck ever.
I received in the mail that bottle of mead I ordered a few weeks back. I should have ordered more but I've been conserving money for the trip to Disney in two weeks.
I have drank most of the bottle and lightweight drunk that I am I have quite a nice buzz on.
I was going to save it for the party this weekend but decided to enjoy it myself because that's what kind of guy I am. Joke you if you can't take a fuck...
Party?
Oh yeah. The lovely wife and I will be married 20 years on May 28th. Normally we'd hit the ren fest the following weekend and maybe have a cookout and a party to celebrate, but we will be in Disney World that weekend and the 28th is on a workday for most people this year. NOT a good time to partake in your favorite drink.
Memorial Day weekend, the weekend prior to our Anniversary, is not a good time either. Lots of folks are out of town and I normally work very hard on holiday weekends because all of the jackasses need to get a waffle and eggs in their stomachs before they grill out. WTF?
So this Saturday is our celebration of 20 years of blissfuljoyful eventful marriage.
All of the above actually.
If you know me then you are invited. If not, well, perhaps you should send an email prior to showing up so that you don't get skewered for being a dick head. There's only room for one of us.
I had originally intended on spending the evening writing but I didn't get home from work until ten and watched LOST until eleven, all the while enjoying this fine bottle of honey mead. Since there most likely won't be any left by the time Saturday gets here you can find more at their web site.
One of the nice benefits of my job is that they reimburse me for 100% of my gas, excepting of course when I am off or on vacation. Since I rarely do anything on my off days this ends up being everything I spend on it, which is around $60-70 a week.
So I stop at the Racetrac after my meeting this afternoon and I was only putting in about $13, figuring that I would fill up after I get paid tomorrow. Since I was paying in cash, which is something I rarely do, I had to prepay for the gas. When I went in to get the receipt all they gave me was this damned slip that said "Prepay Gars $13". I asked for the gas receipt that showed how mu gas I actually pumped, since that's what is required to turn in on my expense report.
"Oh, we can't do that, the only way you can get that kind of receipt from prepay gas is if you sign up for our prepay card"
Thanks but no fucking thanks, I'll just make sure NOT to stop at Racetrac anymore and take my $300 a month elsewhere.
Last week I posted that one from work. Yet again this week I managed to shoot one at work that while not really a tramp stamp is certainly interesting as hell.
This one was also taken with my Blackberry. The lighting inside just sucks for taking photos with my phone.
Unless something comes up over at CNN that I want to post about I am getting ready to hit the sack. I just realized however that I had not taken the time to post about getting my blood drawn this morning.
Having my blood drawn seems to have turned into a full-blown goatfuck ordeal over the last few years.
The last few times I have gone they have had to stick me several times and after four or five times digging around in my arm with a needle they take it out of my hand. Shit, they can stick one right in a vein and no blood comes out.
Guess I am actually dead and just don't know it...
Anyway, I made sure to drink a big glass of water prior to going to bed last night and then drank two or three more when I got up this morning so that I wouldn't be dehydrated when they went to poke me.
Fuck all, it still took three times. Here's this woman digging around my fucking arm with a big old needle saying "tell me if it hurts". Shit, unless you rip something loose I'm not saying a damn thing, just get the blood.
She finally stuck one in the top of my hand and it came right out.
Either I need to go in and just slash away with my pocket knife to help them out or start drinking water like a week before hand. My arm is still sore where she jammed the gottdamned needle into my arm.
All to get my cholesterol checked so my Doc can renew my prescription next month. What a damned dog and pony show.
....
So I am still fighting the smoking. I cut down to almost nothing and finally quit for a couple of weeks and then started having one or two here and there. I have had a pretty hard month at work. Not an excuse but I guess working 17 days straight kicked my ass because I have purchased cigarettes twice.
Haven't had one in two days now and it sucks quitting again because I am going through the same damned withdrawals I went through last month. Doh!
I am starting to seriously consider getting hypnotized but I am afraid that I will come out of there barking like a chicken or whatnot...
Oh by the way...since Eric's out of town I stole the keys to his site and managed to cross-post this over there as well...
It's funny some of the things people search for on the Internet. Fortunately when you come here a record of your search terms comes along as well and I get to see what brought you here! Some of the things make sense and some don't. Here is a smattering of the wonderful searches that brought folks here over the last hour.
Ajax Foster Care Numbers - While I wouldn't be searching for foster care this is a completely normal thing that I might find myself looking for. I usually start out by searching for "so and so home page" and normally the address and phone number are listed there. So why did they come here? Fuck if I know. I have posted in the past about Ajax, as in Javascript and I have also posted about foster care as in the FLDS but how the heck did they find my sight with that search and actually get off the right track. Apparently in Google Canada I am number 6 on that search. The township of Ajax and phone numbers is #1 but the article I wrote on the FLDS children must have been more attractive than their initial search.
Single Moms Looking to Date - Oh hell yeah. I don't have them beating down my doors but if they are looking for a date I can find them one for a nominal charge but I get to take pictures...Believe it or not I am #1 at Google for this search. Sweet. Gotta keep that one.
The next two were from Blogcatalog and someone going through Google to translate one of my entries on Brianna Denison into Italian.
The Doll Palace - I wrote a review of this site that my daughter uses well over a year ago. Nothing particularly amazing.
Brianna Denison - Obviously I wrote several posts about Brianna and quite a bit of traffic from them.
Funny Interests - Funny interests? Not I apart from my goats...
Watching deleted Youtube Videos - I always get hits from this. It's the 10th and 12th most searched for term that brings people here.
Americans are Uneducated - Apparently someone has been spending too much time here dumbing themselves down. I am apparently #1 on this Google search, resulting from a post I wrote entitled Sevenload Thinks Americans are Uneducated LAST March responding to their comment on my site about Guantanamo Bay and the execution of Saddam.
Last but not least is the latest search which was Stuff People Stick Up Their Ass...Now there's someone after my own heart. I used to get nasty searches for Beef Curtains and other stuff quite often but lately they have all pertained to murders and missing people, which of course I have been writing about. It's nice to see there are still degenerates on the Internet. I'll bet the bastard was looking for pictures too!
Sorry about no Thursday posts. I completely missed the thirteen and the thongs :( I wonder how pissed they would be if I combined Thursday Thirteen and Thursday Thongs? You know, Thirteen Thursday Thongs...
Sounds good to me anyway.
I mentioned the other day that I was going back through my music library and culling out the duplicate tracks and the ones that are corrupt. I ended up with something like 8100 songs. Of course some of them are still duplicated. It's amazing how many times a song can show up on 'greatest hits' albums for bands like Aerosmith among others. I ended up deleting about 20 gigs worth though, I had somewhere around 30k songs at one point. That means that 22 thousand songs were duplicates, corrupt, cut short, or just crap I wanted to get rid of. Most of the CDs are in my basement, if I ever want them back I can dig them up and listen to them that way I suppose. I am still tempted to go back through and delete even more, although some of the stuff that the wife enjoys I might not, and vice versa.
Except for messing with the music I spent the entire day yesterday sleeping. The last three weeks have kicked my ass. Having two days off hasn't fixed the problem but it certainly went a long way toward helping it out. I napped for a couple of hours this afternoon as well (exciting life ain't it?) but I tried not to overdo things today.
I'll be back online a bit later. I have to go pick the girls up from school. I had blood drawn earlier and once again they had to stick me several times so I need to vent about that later.
Apparently the messiah has been and gone and missed him. You can find him though, in a New Mexico state police jail cell for sexual contact with a minor as well as contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
I suppose as far as God is concerned, sticking your dick in a child isn't a problem. Just ask the old men from the FLDS. Wayne Bent aka Michael Travesser, the leader of Lord Our Righteousness Church (Strong City) took a page from their book.
There's a twist though. Wayne is the Messiah. No, really. God told him in 2000 he was. Probably around the same time he told him it was OK to fuck little kids. Perhaps we should be glad he wasn't whispering 'helter skelter' in Wayne's ear. The photos certainly remind me of old Charlie.
The Strong City cult has a blog as well. That's because the lord is going to blog himself back into importance. Go check out some of the bullshit if you get a chance.
I am obviously a bit snarky this morning. For that I apologize. Today is the last of 17 days straight without a day off.
If I have time this afternoon I'll get my Wednesday meme posts up. Right now it's time to go to school with the girls and have "Pancakes With Pops"
No matter how tired I may be, I knew I had to schedule this one. I wouldn't forgive myself if I forgot to post the weekly tramp stamp. :)
This one started at the bottom but there really wasn't anything very visible to shoot so I just got the top of the dragon.
Heck, we are gonna make this week a twofer tuesday tramp stamp!
Anyway, I am sitting in the office of one of my stores on Sunday and one of the waitresses comes in to get paid. As she's leaving I said, "Hey, let me take a picture of your tattoos"! She asked what I was going to do with the picture and I told her "put them on the Internet" Everyone laughed and she said OK.
bwahaha.
The image quality ain't all that great but I had to take it with the Blackberry.
So. Have you ever done you just knew was wrong, even as you were doing it. That ugly feeling you get in the pit of your stomach is just awful. Not like stealing or anything. I don't mean wrong in that way.
I am pretty sure that my third shift grill operator had a few budweisers too many prior to coming to work tonight and I just ignored it and went on about my business. This is my fifteenth day straight and today, like several lately have been 15+ hours. Not that it's any excuse but I am just tired and really didn't give a shit.
Hopefully in the process of cooking tonight he won't chop his hand off or burn the place down.
All of my manager are finished with their vacations now. The last one comes back tomorrow and I have to cover the next two days off so that one of them can be off. Thursday and Friday I will actually get a couple of days off in a row. That will be the first ones since the weekend I went to the Ren Fest. It'll be three weeks by then. No wonder I am so brain dead.
Luckily I won't be doing much in the way of cooking the next couple of days. I have to stripe a couple of parking lots and put down cool seal on a couple of roofs so at least it will be something a bit different.
That's about it tonight. I am pretty well beat and just don't have anything else in this weary brain to write about.
I love a good horror movie. No. really. I love them. Anything from the genre will suit me, from Hitchcock to King, even the old monster movies with Karloff and Price. It seems as if my oldest daughter has inherited the love of horror from me as well and although I enjoy watching the films with her I don't think I will let her go with me to see Frontier(s).
Why?
Looks to be just a wee bit too gory for a ten-year-old. I am pretty psyched about it actually and although it may not be playing anywhere close to my house since it is getting a limited run starting May 9th and showing for only one week, the DVD release will be coming a week later.
Frontier(s) makes other movies look like kiddie shows. Judging from the trailers and clips I saw at the web site it's going to be a pretty terrifying flick. If you aren't into horror movies and the like, you may not want to see this one.
Uncut. Uncensored. Unrated.
Not too many movies make it to the theater without being rated. Frontier(s) was originally slapped with an NC17 rating for extreme sadistic gore and violence, so rather than cuttting it down to an "R" rating and losing some of what makes the movie so horrific they decided on the limited theatrical release followed shortly by the DVD. How many movies have you seen that look as if they might have been good had they not been cut up and the good parts removed? I know I've seen plenty of horror movies that just weren't horrible. That's because the movie creators allow their creations to be butchered just to get an "R" rating. Obviously by not doing this Frontier(s) has created a bit of a stir, but that's all good, just means more people know about it.
If you want to check it out you can see the unrated trailer and several other clips over at the Frontier(s) web site and you can also watch the official theatrical trailer below...certainly not for the weak of stomach...
If you watched the trailer, what do you think? Wanna go check it out with me? :)
So since I have last participated in the meme they have been giving out a general theme for each week. This weeks object is to pick a letter of the alphabet and then list thirteen words about myself that begin with that letter.
Damn, this is hard. OK, Today's Thursday Thirteen post is brought to you by the letter "M" (not to mention the fact that Bert is evil)...
1.... Manager
2.... Married
3.... Miles (My last name)
4.... Messy
5.... Mental
6.... Male
7.... Muscled (starting to be anyway)
8.... Mischievous
9.... Mean (occasionally)
10.... Mysterious (It's my lie, I'll tell it like I want to!)
11.... Mushy (if you read my earlier entry you would think so)
12.... Manic (sometimes)
13.... Marvelous
I did say they would describe me but I didn't say they would all be true...I would have put masturbating but that was earlier...

It's been quite some time since I participated in Thursday Thirteen. Prior to going to the Bahamas as a matter of fact because I had fully intended on putting this list up then, for Valentine's Day. I've just gotten busy. Wednesdays and Thursdays (and now Tuesdays) are extremely long lately and I have been coming home late and just posting scheduled stuff if anything at all. Anyway, I am glad to finally post this! I am not normally prone to posting sappy bullshit, particularly for meme's and stuff like that but what the hell!
I am actually posting two of these. This is the one I started in February. The one for later today is a theme that they have going on!
Thirteen Reasons I love my wife
She manages to put up with my chauvinist pig attitude with a smile (and a smack)
Can't sleep without her anymore
I feel complete
While we both have things we do apart, sometimes it's just more fun together
She puts up with farting in bed (although that might be mutual)
She has given me three beautiful children
Sex (hey, it's a healthy part of any relationship)
After 20 years I am still learning new things about her
She learned how to cook (thank god)
She understands it's OK to just be together and be quiet
She puts up with my job
She knows I am a pig and accepts me for what I am!
